TextLimit guides
SEO title and meta length.
Snippet length is a writing aid, not a guarantee. The goal is a clear result that still makes sense if it is shortened.

Use the limit as a guardrail
Many title tags fit best around 50 to 60 characters, while meta descriptions often fit around 150 to 160 characters. Pixel width also matters because wide letters take more room than narrow ones.
Search engines can rewrite snippets
Google and other search engines may show different text based on the query. A concise title and description still help because they give the page a clear default.
Write for the next click
A strong snippet names the page, the task, and the result. Avoid repeating keywords just to fill space. The text should still be useful when copied into a CMS, search preview, or social card field.
Snippet checklist
- Put the specific page promise early.
- Avoid stuffing the same keyword phrase multiple times.
- Keep titles readable if the brand name is removed or truncated.
- Write descriptions that explain what the user can do next.
